This weekend I connected with community by going to the farmers market. At the farmers market, I bought some herbs to plant in my garden, I bought veggies for the week, and I connected with farmers and vendors who are now part of my community. Below is a photo of my favorite booth- our meat guy Christophe who runs Longlesson Farm. He is a french chef who now lives in upstate new york raising cows and pigs for food. He trades for or grows most of his food. He hasn't bought food from the grocery store in over 2 years. He's such a wealth of knowledge and inspiration. I love getting to know my community and my ecosystem through the farmers and foodies here. Theres so much wellness that comes out of this for me. From eating better to knowing
I am part of something that matters to feeling connected with the land and the food I am eating- all of this contributes to my mental health.
